Signorelli Sidesword
430,00 € – 490,00 € excl. VAT
The Signorelli Sidesword is inspired by the 15th century great Italian artist Luca Signorelli and his vivid depictions of Renaissance soldiers. Featuring three fully ambidextrous configurations, a diamond narrow blade, a heat-treated guard with no knuckle bow to fit any glove, it balances historical authenticity with a sporty attitude. Ideal for Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), historical fencing, stage fencing, and film productions.
Signorelli Sidesword: The Soldier’s Vigor
The Signorelli Sidesword Op.II, or Opera Seconda, draws inspiration from 15th century artist Luca Signorelli, an Italian Renaissance master celebrated for his intense portrayals of soldiers, warriors, and complex battle scenes. Known for his expressive, robust figures, Signorelli captured the vigor and movement of martial life with a focus on meticulously detailed weaponry and armor. His frescoes, particularly those in Orvieto Cathedral, reflect his fascination with the human form in motion and the art of combat. This refined model honors Signorelli and Italian Renaissance artistry, blending martial function with the late 15th century aesthetics.
Enhanced by our exclusive Modular Sword System™, the Signorelli Op.II is completely dismountable and offers three adaptable configurations, each designed to suit different combat styles. The options range from a bulb pommel with no small port for lightweight versatility, to one with a single compact port for added hand protection, and finally to a model with two small ports, maximizing defense without compromising the sword’s nimble handling. The lack of a knuckle bow makes this sidesword ideal for any type of glove, offering full ambidexterity across all configurations. Additionally, the heat-treated guard increases durability, while the newly designed grip provides a more substantial feel for better control.
