Diestro Sidesword: The Skillful Way
The Diestro Sidesword Op.II, or Opera Seconda, is the refined second edition of our classic Diestro and previous Agrippa. Brilliantly named by Maestro David Rawlings of the London Longsword Academy, the Diestro was designed for the Bolognese fencing tradition and serves as a versatile introduction to the Destreza system. After valuable feedback from our users, the Diestro has been completely reimagined while adhering to the core principles of the first model, offering a sidesword that is ergonomic, practical, and safe.
Our latest redesign focuses on improving wrist ergonomics with the new fig pommel, advancing our universal “Modular Sword System™” goal. The grip offers a more substantial feel for better handling, while the guard is heat-treated and includes an extended knuckle bow that adds extra room toward the pommel for glove support. Additionally, resting your finger on the quillon block is exceptionally comfortable, and the squared blocks on the finger rings add a touch of elegance.
FEATURES:
- Light and ambidextrous: Around 1 kilogram and fully ambidextrous.
- Heat-treated crossguard and blade: Ensures durability and longevity.
