Effective August 29th, 2025, under Executive Order 14324, the long-standing de minimis threshold (previously allowing duty-free entry for imports under USD 800) has been revoked for all U.S. imports.
From now on, all international shipments entering the United States must undergo formal customs clearance, and may incur import duties, tariffs, and carrier fees – regardless of their value or country of origin.

1. Who is responsible for these charges?

The buyer is the importer of record.
This means that all duties, tariffs, and customs-related charges are your responsibility, and are not included in the product price you pay on our website.
These fees are usually collected directly by the shipping carrier (e.g., UPS, DHL) before or upon delivery.

We are committed to transparency and will always declare our goods accurately, but please note that we have no control over the final amount set by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

2. Estimated Import Duty Rates (for reference only)

Customs duties are determined based on product type, declared value, HS code, and origin. While they can vary, here are current average estimates: roughly 15%, with some categories subject to MFN (Most Favored Nation) tariffs and reciprocal rates.

Our products are typically exported under HS code 9506 (sporting goods), but CBP may reclassify them at its discretion.

3. What if I refuse to pay the import duties?

We understand this change may be frustrating, and we want to be clear:
Refusing to pay duties is not a valid reason for cancelling or refunding an order.

In such cases:

  • If duties are moderate, we may retrieve the goods and refund the remaining amount after deducting:
    • Original shipping
    • Return shipping
    • Any customs or processing fees
  • If duties are high (e.g., exceeding the item’s value), we may authorize disposal of the goods by Customs, with no refund issued, moreover because the courier is going to ask the custom fees directly to us.

For clarity: original shipping fees are always non-refundable once the item has shipped.

4. Can I dispute the customs charges?

Yes. If the duty amount seems unusually high, you have the right to file a formal protest with U.S. Customs (CBP).
Here’s how it works:

    • Only the importer of record (you) can file the protest.
    • Contact your shipping carrier to obtain the entry number and protest instructions.
    • File your dispute within 180 days of the assessment date.
  • Duties typically must be paid upfront; refunds are issued if the protest is successful.

Although we make every effort to provide all the necessary documentation upfront, we are happy to assist further by supplying additional supporting documents, including:

  • Invoices
  • Product details
  • Country of origin certificates
  • HS code declarations

We recommend this path mainly for larger orders where the duties significantly exceed expected amounts.

5. Before placing your order

To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend that U.S. customers:

  • Check local customs rules or consult a broker if unsure
  • Understand that all imports now carry customs duties, regardless of order size
  • Place your order only if you accept these terms

We value your trust and thank you for your understanding during this global regulatory shift.
