The Pro Buckler draws inspiration from museum artifacts and designs as taught by renowned masters at arms, including Lutegerus, Hans Talhoffer, Andreas Lignitzer, Antonio Manciolino, and Achille Marozzo. These masters emphasized the buckler’s versatility in close combat, highlighting its role in deflecting attacks and facilitating offensive maneuvers.

Crafted from resilient steel, the Pro Buckler is designed to withstand the rigors of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) practice. Its construction ensures optimal performance against steel impacts preserving nimbleness and agility, allowing for swift and precise movements. The buckler’s compact size and sturdy build make it an ideal companion for one-handed swords, enhancing both defense and offense in various fencing styles.

Our latest redesign focuses on improving wrist alignement and grip comfort, making the handle completely dismountable for transport and replacement, advancing our universal Modular Sword System™ goal.

While some minor scratches from the manufacturing process may be present, they do not affect the quality or durability of the product. The Pro Buckler serves as a sport version of historical bucklers, simplified and tailored specifically for HEMA practitioners. Its design facilitates the execution of techniques detailed in historical manuals, providing an authentic experience for modern fencers.
