WHEN STRUCTURE BECOMES GRACE

…AND IS NATURALLY BORN TO IMPRESS

The new Marozzo Sidesword Op. II, or Opera Seconda, is the result of years of study, redrawing, and workshop refinement of one of our most beloved models – an evolution faithful to the 16th-century originals yet shaped by today’s understanding of Historical European Martial Arts.

Every curve and junction has been re-engineered from historical specimens and iconography, from the block detail by the finger ring to the exquisite and smooth quillon block and the now-expanded concave port with our signature diamond structure, plus the fishtail quillon ends. The result is a sidesword that captures the spirit of the Bolognese Historical Fencing School while balancing precision, resilience, and unmistakable character.

We preserved its historical soul and refined it with Malleus intelligence – built to excel as a tournament-ready weapon.

Core features, redesigned

> WITH OR WITHOUT KNUCKLE FOR ALL HEMA GLOVES

Wearing bulky gloves? Choose the version without the knuckle bow. Light to medium gloves? Go for the knuckle bow for added protection.

Being faithful to original artifacts always poses a great challenge in terms of proportions. It’s our duty to convey the perfect, striking balance between the ancestral weapon and the contemporary fencing trainer. From now on, the new Marozzo Sidesword Op. II will be available both with and without a knuckle bow, to suit every type of glove.

> Lightened Knuckle bow

A new knuckle bow joins the Marozzo line — lighter, tapered, and ergonomically shaped to improve dexterity without compromising safety.

> Smooth Quillon Block

The newly redesigned V-quillon block draws inspiration from the previous model, featuring a refined central ridge and reduced thickness where the finger rests on the sword. This subtle yet decisive evolution enhances both comfort and visual harmony.

> Finger ring block and Fishtail Ends

If you know Malleus Martialis, you know we care about details in a way that’s uncommon. The block by the finger ring now mirrors the sculpted transitions of museum originals, as do the fishtail ends that add both class and character.

> Modular Sword System™ Compatible

As part of the Malleus Martialis Modular Sword System™, the Marozzo Sidesword Op. II is entirely dismountable, making maintenance, transport, and customization effortless. It also opens new possibilities for future expansions and component upgrades.

Be the fencer Marozzo would have trained

Available with three blade lengths 85, 90, and 95 cm – and in four configurations, the Marozzo performs flawlessly in every context.

Not sure yet?

With its historically faithful proportions and solid construction, the Marozzo Op. II keeps its weight between 1080 g and 1150 g across all four configurations. Stable, authoritative, and as responsive as ever, this is where the Renaissance spirit meets modern taste. At the very same price as before.
